Paul Teague – Professor of Management, Queens University Belfast.
Paul Teague is the Martin Naughton Chair of Management at Queen’s University Belfast. His PhD. is from the London School of Economics and Paul has been a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Massachusetts. He has contributed to our understanding of the worlds of work and employment, both internationally and in Ireland, where he has undertaken important research in areas such as social partnership, workplace partnership and conflict resolution.
He has written widely on the theme of the employment relations consequences of deeper European integration. His books on the subject include the first ever study of the impact of EU laws and policies on the British employment system and the first review of the social dimension to the European Union. His book, with Paul Bew and Henry Patterson, Between Peace and War: The Economic and Political Future of Northern Ireland, was awarded Political Book of the Year by the Sunday Times in Ireland.
His current research activities concern social partnership and employment performance, and the role of Human Resources functions in dispute resolution during recessionary times. He has worked with the Irish Government, the EU, foreign governments and labour organisations to develop policies and programmes in these areas.
Professor Paul Teague has retained a strong commitment to social justice throughout his career and he was recently awarded a Fellowship of the Irish Academy of Management.
Paul Mooney PhD.
Paul Mooney holds a Ph.D. and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Industrial Sociology from Trinity College Dublin, along with a National Diploma in Industrial Relations from the National College of Ireland and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
Paul is widely recognised as an expert on organisation and individual change. He has over 25 years experience in helping organisations to improve performance. Paul is an Author of ten books covering a wide span of issues and topics around organisation performance and personal change. His particular areas of expertise include:
- Organisational Development/Change & Conflict Resolution
- Leadership Development/Executive Coaching
- Human Resource Management/Employee Engagement
After completing a formal apprenticeship, Paul moved into production management. He subsequently joined General Electric and held a number of human resource positions in manufacturing. He then worked with Sterling Drug in Ireland and the Pacific Rim, with responsibility for all HR activity across Asia.
For the past 20 years he has led management consulting companies specialising in customised Organisation and Management Development solutions, working in over 20 countries. Between 2007 and 2010 Paul held the position of President, National College of Ireland.
Turlough served as Director General of IBEC from 2000-2009.
He was a member of the Executive Board of Business Europe, the Council of the International Organisation of Employers, a member of the National Implementation Body, the National Economic and Social Council and a board member of the Labour Relations Commission.
Turlough is a company director and chairman and provides consultancy services in business strategy and organisation. He is the Managing Director of Resolve Ireland and is involved in the provision of high level mediation and dispute resolution in public and private sector organisations .
Turlough was educated at University College Dublin and The London School of Economics.
Liam Doherty PhD.
Liam is a Managing Director of “AskHR Solutions Ltd.” and specialises in the management of large scale Industrial Relations and Human Resource change projects. He has assisted numerous organisations across a range of sectors including Financial Services, Pharma, Telecoms and Logistics.
Liam has a BA (Mod.) in Economics and Industrial Relations from Trinity College Dublin and a MA in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations from Keele University. He has completed PhD. level research into conflict management and dispute resolution systems in MNCs based in the Republic of Ireland. He is also a member of the Board of the Industrial Relations Research Trust.
He has published “Developing Competitive Advantage Through Team Working”, “Innovation in Human Resource Management” and has co-authored a Protocol to Govern the Conduct of Private Independent Investigation, Mediation and Arbitration (IIMA) in Employment Disputes and a Guide to Alternative Workplace Dispute Resolution in Ireland.
